Developing the whole child:
academically, socially, and emotionally.
THRIVE ACADEMY
Thrive is redefining what a learning place can be.
Our students don’t just study hard in school, they live there too. They reside together in modern dorms during the week. On the weekends, they go home to their families.
At Thrive, we nudge students to become more independent, while also teaching them how to rely on their schoolmates. They learn many lessons on their own; living in dorms makes them responsible for their own actions and teaches them to respect their classmates.
Thrive is sanctioned by the State of Louisiana, which provides extra funding for our rigorous academic program and extra services, and pays for room and board.

THRIVING ALUMNUS
Deonte Palmer, Class OF ‘24 Valedictorian, is a Senior on a mission. He juggles academics, workforce and extra curricular activities effortlessly. He is a tenor in the Ablaze Youth Choir and also leads their content team as the primary creator. On campus, he is an active office aid who develops content for the school as well. He was apart of the development of Thrive’s Digital Media Course and acted as camera man and editor for the “Live @ Thrive” broadcast for three consecutive seasons.
Deonte has currently been accepted into Louisiana State University, Southeastern University, and Louisiana Tech’s aviation program. He has decided that he will attend Southeastern to pursue Computer Science.
He is projected to graduate in May. Although he may be transitioning into becoming a Lion, he will forever be a BULLDOG.
WATCH: Deonte develops content for the school. Here is some of his work, which displays a recap of the 2024 Thrive Academy College and Career Day.

Students scored above the state average in 7th Math, 7th Science, 7th & 8th ELA, 7th & 8th SS & American History
Maintain a partnership with Baton Rouge Community College to provide our older students the opportunity to earn college credits or industry-based certifications
Recognized by LDOE for the percentage of minority students earning college credit
…and we’re far from done!
LEARNING THROUGH EXPLORATION
Thrive Academy Middle school team takes on the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum to make real-world connections to lessons that they’ve engaged with in the classroom setting.

Thrive Academy of Baton Rouge relies on the generosity of donors to further support the development of our scholars. Educational, residential, and student life opportunities are achieved through the communities commitment to giving back to the youth.
