A LETTER FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

As we embark on an exciting year of interscholastic athletics, I want to take a moment to reflect on the unique experience that Thrive Academy offers for our students. As your Athletic Director, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where both athletic excellence and academic achievement are celebrated and encouraged.

One of the fundamental differences between high school sports and recreational sports lies in the philosophy surrounding participation. In recreational sports, the emphasis is often placed on equal participation for all players, regardless of skill level. However, at the interscholastic level, the dynamic shifts. Here, playing time is earned through hard work, dedication, and skill development, and it is not guaranteed to every athlete.

I encourage our student-athletes to prioritize their academic pursuits while also fully committing themselves to their respective sports. Our coaches are not only dedicated to developing athletic skills but also to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel both on the field/court and in the classroom.

To our coaches, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication to our student-athletes. Your mentorship goes beyond the game, instilling values of integrity, teamwork, and resilience that will serve our students well in all aspects of their lives.

To our student-athletes, I commend you for your hard work, determination, and passion for your sport. Remember that success is not solely defined by wins and losses but by the growth and character development that occur along the way.

Together, let us continue to uphold the proud tradition of excellence that defines our school's athletic program. By embracing the unique challenges and opportunities that interscholastic athletics provide, we can empower our students to reach new heights of achievement, both on and off the field.
