Work one-on-one with a specific teacher and help plan events during the year, tutor students, and help create the classroom culture. This is an excellent role for someone who is interested in serving as a classroom mom or classroom dad for the year. This position could volunteer anywhere from 7:30am-3:30pm.
You will be assisting the teachers in running small group instruction and working with students who need additional assistance with concepts. This position is great for someone who may be interested in teaching long term. This position could volunteer anywhere from 7:30am-4:30pm.
In this role you will be paired, one-on-one, with a specific student who is in need of tutoring. You will be able to assist one of our students grow academically while building a relationship with them. This position could volunteer between 2:20pm-3:20pm OR 3:30pm-4:30pm. We ask for a twice a week commitment in this role.
Art Class Volunteer
In this role you will work directly with our arts expression teacher. Our arts expressions class offers our students a variety of art forms from painting, to dance, to step, to music and singing. If you have a talent in any artistic area we would love for you to come volunteer your time. Art classes run at the following times: Monday- Thursday- 9:00am-10:10am, 10:15am-11:25am, 11:55am-1:05pm
Friday- 8:50am-9:55am, 10:00am-11:05am, 11:30am- 12:35pm
Physical Education Volunteer-
This position will work directly with our Director of Athletics. You will be able to work with our students as they learn a variety of sports. If you like sports we would love for you to volunteer your time: Monday- Thursday- 9:00am-10:10am, 10:15am-11:25am, 11:55am-1:05pm Friday- 8:50am-9:55am, 10:00am-11:05am, 11:30am- 12:35pm
Every Sunday we invite you to come and break bread with our students. During this time you will have the opportunity to welcome our students back to campus and engage with them about a variety of topics while supporting their social development. Another way to push into this special time is to bring in a sweet treat for our students to eat for dessert! Every Sunday, 7:00pm-8:00pm
Everyday after school our students participate in clubs that align to their interests and talents. This year we will have a dynamic catalog of club activities like dance/cheer, gardening, journalism/photography, film, and young professionals for our students to choose from. During this time volunteers will assist our club sponsors in ensuring that our students are engaged and fully supported. Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-5:30pm
Getting our students to and through college is one of our main goals. To ensure that all of our students have that option upon graduation we provide abundant opportunities for our students to grow intellectually. Every afternoon, students will spend an hour in Study Hall completing their homework and following their academic interests. We encourage volunteers to come in during this time to help our students with their homework and support their independent intellectual pursuits. Monday-Thursday, 6:00pm-7:00pm
Dinner and Dialogue
Each night our students work together with their Residential Advisor to prepare a healthy meal for their family unit. During this time volunteers are invited to stop by and help our students prepare their dinner then stay for Dinner and Dialogue which is all about connection and conversation. Dinnertime is an opportunity to reflect on the day, discuss hot topics, and strengthen relationships.
